These Terms govern your use of Royal Valor (the "Game") — the client application, the online service it connects to, and the Royal Valor websites. By creating an account or playing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not play.

Royal Valor is separate from Pixla's other products. A Royal Valor account is not a Pixla account, and Pixla's platform Terms of Service — which govern Pixla Hosting, Pixla Mail and the Pixla websites — do not apply to the Game. Our handling of personal data is described in the Royal Valor Privacy Policy, incorporated here by reference.

1. Who may play

The Game is made for a general audience, including children, and asks for a date of birth when you register.

• 13 and over. You may hold your own account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, your parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf, and by registering you confirm they have.
• Under 13. We ask for a parent's or guardian's email address and send that adult a request for consent. The account cannot be used until they confirm it, and we collect nothing else about the child before then. A confirmation notice goes to the same address afterwards. A parent may withdraw consent at any time using the link in either email, which deletes the account and its data.
• Purchases are for adults. Only the account holder of a payment method may buy, and by buying you confirm you are that person or have their permission.

The Guardian Lock. A parent or guardian can set a four-digit PIN on any account. While it is set, the account is limited to preset chat phrases and cannot spend crowns. Setting it produces a recovery code shown once; we store only a scrambled copy and cannot recover or reissue it.

2. Your account

Sign in with an email address and password, or with Sign in with Apple. Keep your credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at support@pixla.app if you believe someone else is using it.

You may delete your account at any time from inside the Game (Settings ▸ Account). Deletion is immediate and permanent: your heroes, your crowns and everything bought with them are destroyed, your heroes' names return to circulation for other players to claim, and nothing is refunded. There is no grace period and no undo.

3. The Game is free to play

Royal Valor costs nothing to download or play. We may change, add or remove features, zones, items and rules at any time, including for game balance, and may suspend the service for maintenance.

4. Crowns, valor, and what money can buy

• Valor is earned by playing and cannot be bought. Everything that changes the outcome of a fight costs valor.
• Crowns are bought with money and buy appearance and convenience only — cosmetics, hero identity, extra character slots. Crowns cannot buy anything that changes a fight.

Crowns are a limited licence, not property. They have no cash value, are not a bank deposit, stored value or legal tender, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred between accounts except as a gift code we issue. You have no ownership interest in them. Unspent crowns are destroyed when an account is deleted or terminated.

5. Buying crowns

Crowns are sold through two channels, and who you are buying from differs:

Prices are shown before you pay and carry no hidden charges. We may change prices; the price shown at the moment of purchase is the one that applies. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax added at checkout.

If a payment is reversed, so are its crowns. When Apple refunds an in-app purchase, when we refund a purchase made from us, or when a bank takes a payment back in a dispute, the crowns it bought are removed from the hero they were added to — even if they have already been spent, in which case that hero's crown balance falls below zero and nothing more can be bought with crowns until it is back above the price. What was already bought is kept, and valor is never touched. If the reversal is itself undone — a dispute decided in our favour, or a refund Apple withdraws — the crowns come back.

6. Refunds on purchases made from us

Nothing in this section takes away a right you have by law. Where local law gives you a stronger right than the one described here, that right applies.

• An unredeemed gift code: contact support@pixla.app within 30 days of purchase and we will cancel the code and refund it in full.
• A redeemed code: the crowns are in an account and the sale is final, except where the law provides otherwise.
• Consumers in the EU and UK have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract. Because a gift code is delivered immediately, you consent to immediate delivery at checkout and acknowledge that doing so ends that right once the code is issued. Until a code is redeemed we will honour a withdrawal request anyway, under the first bullet above.
• Our mistakes are ours to fix. Charged twice, charged the wrong amount, or a code never arrived — tell us and we will make it right, whenever it happened.

Refunds go back to the original payment method. We do not refund in crowns.

7. Gift codes

A gift code is a bearer instrument: whoever holds it can redeem it.

• Each code is redeemable once, by one account, and does not expire.
• Codes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
• Treat a code like cash. We cannot replace one that is lost or redeemed by somebody else: buying a code needs no account, so we cannot tell who was meant to have it.
• Redeeming a code is not a purchase and is allowed while the Guardian Lock is set — the money was already spent, elsewhere, by somebody else.
• A code is cancelled if the payment for it is refunded or reversed. A cancelled code cannot be redeemed. If it already was, its crowns are removed from the hero who redeemed it, as section 5 describes — even when that is not the person who paid.

8. How to behave

Do not cheat, exploit bugs, or use unauthorised third-party software with the Game; harass, threaten or abuse other players; impersonate anybody; attempt to reach another player's account; attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service; or buy, sell or trade accounts, characters, crowns or codes for real money outside the Game.

Chat. Messages are relayed between players and are not stored on our servers. A filter applies in both directions for accounts in safe mode. Because messages are not kept, we usually cannot investigate something said in chat after the fact — please use the reporting tools in the Game at the time.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these Terms or where the law requires it. Crowns and items on a terminated account are forfeited and are not refunded. You may stop playing and delete your account at any time.

10. If the Game closes

Online games do not run forever. If we decide to close Royal Valor we will give at least 30 days' notice on royalvalorgame.com and in the Game, and will stop selling crowns immediately on announcing it. Crowns already bought may be spent during the notice period. Crowns bought from us within 90 days of that announcement and still unspent when the Game closes will be refunded to the original payment method. Crowns bought in the app are Apple's sale, and any refund there is Apple's to make.

11. Your content

A hero you create, its appearance and its name stay licensed to us so we can operate the Game. Character names are generated by the server and remain ours; a name returns to circulation when the hero is deleted.

12. Intellectual property

The Game, its art, code, music, and the names "Royal Valor," "Pixla Games" and "Pixla" belong to Pixla LLC or its licensors. Playing gives you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the client for that purpose and nothing more.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

The Game is provided as is and as available. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of lost progress. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow this, in which case it applies only as far as the law allows.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the Game is limited to the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost progress, items or crowns. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes are posted with a new effective date and announced in the Game at least 14 days before they take effect, unless a change must be made sooner for legal or security reasons. Continuing to play after they take effect means you accept them. If you do not, delete your account.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the exclusive venue for disputes is the state and federal courts in Knox County, Tennessee.

If you are a consumer outside the United States, nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or of the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

17. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Pixla regarding the Game. If any provision is unenforceable the rest remains in effect. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets; you may not assign them without our consent. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
